DD: (in connection with the Mulder-Scully
relationship) Because it was a film, it had to be made a little more adult,
with at least an intimate relationship. I think that everyone expected that
Mulder and Scully have a love scene, but for me it is almost as awkward as
seeing my parents making love. I believe that that was done in a rather malignant
way: we play with the fans with our relationship. We bring it up to a certain
point, and then we regress it. I looked at the scene in public, and it was
very interesting, because as one approached one the other, people approached
physically in their seat! I never saw a room reacting like that--it was very
cool.
DD: "Téa will not make an episode
of The X-Files, but if we worked together, it would be as if to say, 'Oh
look at us--we are in love, we work together, we are brilliant!' We really
would be putting ourselves in the linesight of criticism...
