David Enters Rehab for Sex Addiction
David Duchovny has entered a rehabilitation center for sex addiction, his lawyer, Stanton “Larry” Stein, tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction,” the actor says in an exclusive statement. “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”
Duchovny, 48, has been married to actress Téa Leoni since 1997. They have two children, daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6.

I feel sad for David and his family. He’s getting help and that’s the best thing he can do. I hope he and Téa can work things out.

A very bad move or a very bad publicist:
I am so disappointed with David, he has made it sooo obvious that its a whole publicity stunt, a “Sex Addict” please,
He must have sat down and looked at the list, hmm

David yo made it really obvious, yo came out with it, then you and the audacity to ask that “your family be left alone and their privacy respected” well you made sure that it would be in the news by coming out with it.
You could have just checked in. it wouldn’t have been a big deal but no, you had to go front page. A very disappointed big fan.
You lost a lot of points with a lot of people, they are not stupid, they can see right through you. You lost quite a few fans with this,, you are sad.
You lost a lot of gay fans,, and you know how important they are , they like to gossip amongst themselves and people listen..

He doesnt need help poeple, it sad to say that he has to use a serious illnes to get publicity, I am a big fan, but this is so blatantly obvious, the season premiers in a couple of weeks.
he could have gone in to rehab on the quiet yet he chose to scream it from the highest santa monica mountaion.
David, its sad that you are grasping at strawas, the show is great, it would have done well if you left it alone. No you had to cry out.
I hope to god i am wrong, its really bad taste to admit this ilness and I hope u are an addict to the sexual group. Good luck, if that is the case.
I find that most endowed men are addicts, Charlie Sheen being anoher example. I guiess size does do something. and we all know that you are no “little goldfish”

it’s ashame that there are people out there that make up vicious rumors. There are many situations of Sex Addiction, and just because you are in treatment for sex addiction, does not mean you are automatically cheating on your spouse.
To the ones spreading these rumors and making fun of him, Let the Duchovny family deal with this matter, in peace and privacy, David is a person, quit treating him like he is some sort of monster, which he is not. God Bless him for admitting he has a problem, and is getting help for it.

I’m amazed at the number of people who think they automatically know if this is real or not. I’m a huge DD fan but who am I to say if this is real or a publicity stunt? If you stop being a fan of his work because of something he is going through, you are not truly a fan to begin with. The fact is, it’s none of my business. Just because I enjoy his work, doesn’t mean I’m entitled to an explanation of his private life. It’s shame he had to bring this to the public because the public thinks they are entitled to this information, but I give him credit for doing this on his own and I don’t want to know anymore than that. I don’t want details of his rehab experience or anything like that.
If by chance this is a publicity stunt… oh well, capitalizing on the public’s eagerness to believe something. If this is the case, I think the publicity manager is doing his/her job. It stinks, but they are doing their job.
In any case, I won’t stop being a fan. I wish he and his family well and hope they all come through this soon and rehap is successful. For the sake of his children, I hope everything is successful and they don’t become a “victim” of this.
