The X-Files Does $10.2M Opening Weekend
The X-Files: I Want to Believe, with a reported budget of $30M, made over a third of its money back in three days by grossing $10.2M this weekend in the United States. The movie opens worldwide on August 1.

Call me crazy, but earning a third back in the first weeken before it even opened worldwide doesn’t sound that bad to me at all. It IS a low budget movie, I didn’t expect to make BIG money. Maybe I’m too positive here, but I’m sure it will pay back what it has costed.

i dont think 1/3 is bad at all. theres still a lot of fans all over the world who are gonna wanna see it, but it just hasnt opened everywhere yet. plus theres people, like myself, who are going more than once to see it. i kno im going tonight =D and hopefully a few more times after that. i reallyreally liked the movie, even if it wasnt as scary as id hoped. it had some really good parts, some FUNNY parts (i love mulder’s humor), and some cute parts that made my shipper heart beat fast
i i REALLY hope to see mulder and scully again in XF3, or in more and more movies like david said in his blog
