David Duchovny confirms new “X-Files” movie

Before the cameras roll (presumably next year), Duchovny said, ? ? S There are some issues apparently that have to be resolved, but they? ? !” re not creative. I think that they? ? !” re financial.? ? ?
A new ? ? S X-Files? ? ? film will come as a relief to cynics who never expected Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to work together once the aliens-everywhere series ended in 2002. (The only previous ? ? S X-Files? ? ? movie was in 1998.) Their relationship had evolved into a tense stand-off where they spoke to each other only before the cameras.
Asked about the casting for the feature, who beyond he and Anderson would return, Duchovny said, ? ? S I would think that Mitch [Pileggi] who plays Skinner would probably be there. If it wasn? ? !” t conspiracy-based, alien-based, then I don? ? !” t think that you? ? !” d have the villains, the Smoking Man and all of that.? ? ?
What will a new ? ? S The X-Files? ? ? feature be ? ? the first part of a planned trilogy like the Batman and Superman revivals?

? ? S Yeah. I think that it should be a case. I don? ? !” t think that it should necessarily involve aliens although I? ? !” m sure that will somehow work it? ? !” s way into the story. But I think that it should be – like ? ? ? Silence of the Lambs? ? !” would? ? !” ve been a great ? ? ? X-File? ? !” film. Like that. I think that it has to be a thriller that could really stand on its own, and just happens to be with these characters that we know.? ? ?
As for his comedic smarts getting a workout in ? ? S Trust the Man,? ? ? the husband of Tea Leoni noted he ? ? S always knew? ? ? he had the comedic chops his wife is celebrated for, even though no one else did. ? ? S Probably because of my earlier work [on ? ? ? Twin Peaks? ? !" ] and then the work on ? ? ? The X-Files? ? !” which is not considered a comedy (even though I think that there are funny episodes, there are) ? ? I guess that the mood and tone of the show was so dark and somber that people got that impression of me. I think that also my style is kind of underplaying and more sort of deadpan than what people consider to be ? ? ? comedic? ? !” acting in films which seems to be a little bigger from time to time.? ? ?

Apparently one of Duchovny? ? !” s comic highpoints in ? ? S Trust the Man,? ? ? one involving his testicles, will only be seen as a DVD outtake.

I tell him that my balls tingle every time the phone rings and he asks if I? ? !” ve tried taking the phone out of my pocket. Then we take the phone and put it over there and then he has his nurse call the number while he holds my balls and in fact they do tingle. Even when the phone is over there. So he brings all these other doctors in to, like, laugh at me. That? ? !” s what I loved about the character, he was so kind of earnest in that way.? ? ?
As to the rumor Duchovny will play the Incredible Hulk, he pleaded ignorance.
